What to add to your trolley:

  • 1 cup chopped dried figs (loosely packed – no need to soak!)
  • 1/2 cup raw almonds (or walnuts)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened desiccated coconut
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (optional, for fiber)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder or carob powder
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

How to prepare the deliciousness:

1. Prep the base:

In a food processor, pulse the almonds until they’re finely chopped but not powdery.

2. Add and Blend:

Add in the chopped dried figs, coconut, chia seeds, cocoa powder, coconut oil, salt, and vanilla. Blend until the mixture becomes sticky and starts to clump together.

3. Roll:

Scoop and roll into small balls using your hands. If the mixture feels too sticky, lightly oil your hands or roll the balls in extra coconut or ground nuts.

4. Chill:

Refrigerate for 20 – 30 minutes to set.

5. Store

Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days, or freeze for longer shelf life.
